Louisiana’s data center boom continues with an existing project that’s will expand its existing footprint.

A third facility, not officially part of Amazon’s original $12 billion investment announced in February, will bring the total project value to $18 billion. The expansion comes as debate continues in Louisiana over data centers’ natural resource and electricity use. Questions are also growing about the prevalence of elected officials signing nondisclosure agreements to limit scrutiny of the state and local subsidies offered to entice industrial development to the state.

Historic preservationists asked the U.S. Supreme Court Tuesday to deny President Donald Trump’s appeal to continue construction on his $400 million White House ballroom on the grounds of the demolished East Wing.
