The organization has already been active in supporting the administration’s efforts to update state tax police, and it was the financial mechanism for Landry renting a live tiger for an LSU football game in 2024.

Slightly more than 5,000 Louisiana utility customers remained without electricity as of Monday afternoon following the second blast of frigid, Arctic air to envelop Louisiana in a week’s time. Restoration crews were expected to have power restored to most of them overnight, as icy conditions finally loosened their grip on the northern part of the state.

Judge William “Billy” Burris will run for the Louisiana Supreme Court seat that Associate Justice William Crain vacated to join the federal bench in December. Burris’ candidacy already has the backing of political action committees for the state’s largest conservative business groups.
