Sen. John Kennedy predicts end to Iran war

U.S. Sen. John Kennedy told a crowd of Iowa conservatives Saturday he believes current high inflation is being caused by the U.S.-Iran war — but said he sees an end to the conflict. He said inflation caused by the conflict is because “oil is in everything, folks.”

La. health officials calculate how many won’t meet Medicaid work requirement

New Medicaid rules coming in 2027 will require tens of thousands of Louisiana residents between age 19 and 65 to earn at least $580 per month, or they must work or volunteer at least 80 hours a month to keep their benefits. They can also enroll in school or job training part-time to meet the requirement.

Former federal officials call foul on Trump’s endangered species action

Seven former officials from top leadership at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have released a joint statement against White House efforts to exempt companies from accountability for incidental deaths of endangered species that occur in the course of economic activity.
