Louisiana will lose another Medicaid provider, affecting 290K people

When Gov. Jeff Landry took office in January 2024, six health insurance plans covered more than 1.6 million people on Medicaid. The state has been aggressive about screening recipients for eligibility since then, and 25% fewer people are on its coverage rolls. And starting in January, only four insurers will provide Medicaid coverage in Louisiana.
